This is the new product offer for the new ‘IC-F51, IC-F61’ JIS7 waterproof LMR handheld transceiver series, based on IC-M88/87 platform. The concept of this new commercial model is to provide an industry first waterproof, user-friendly, very tough and reasonably priced product that will appeal to a wide range of industry types. This is realized in the IC-F51, IC-F61 with such features as wide-band frequency coverage in the UHF band (400-470 MHz), minimum number of operating switches, JIS7 waterproofing and MIL-spec grade rugged construction. Other features like built-in scrambler capability, multiple tone signaling, Intrinsically Safe and BIIS compatible versions make this new series a complete LMR communications solution for almost any application. Target users include fire brigades, rescue organizations, port/harbor industry, off shore plants, transport companies, motorbike messenger services and the military to name a few.The addition of the IC-F51, IC-F61 will further complete Icom’s handheld LMR range, and we are confident that we now will have the right product mix to dramatically increase the Icom brand name and market share in the worldwide commercial radio market.
