Lithium-Ion battery pack standard
The IC-F44G series is supplied with a Lithium-Ion battery pack, BP-231. An optional large capacity battery pack, BP-232 and economical type BP-230 are also available. Lithium-Ion batteries provide larger capacity and a longer operating time than a Ni-Cd or Ni-MH battery pack and allows flexible charging without memory effect.
Small and lightweight body
The IC-F44G series sheds size and weight compared to
the IC-F4G series, weighing is just 300g and measuring
only 53×120×32.5mm*. The aluminum die-cast chassis
and polycarbonate casing combination is redesigned to
increase durability. A rugged dual-rail guide securely locks
the battery to the back of the radio.
Wide frequency coverage
The IC-F44G series covers a wide frequency range with one
version, and the Europe version, IC-F44GT/GS has wide,
middle and narrow channel spacing (25, 20, 12.5kHz)* selectable
per channel.
* Cannot program 25 and 20 kHz at the same time.
Alphanumeric LCD
For the function display, an 8-character 14 segment
alphanumeric LCD is employed to make a variety of information
visually recognizable at a glance. An automatic
LCD backlight is standard for night time operation.
Multi 2-tone/5-tone function built-in
The IC-F44G series has built-in 2-Tone, 5-Tone, CTCSS
and DTCS signaling capabilities for group communication
or selective calling. The IC-F44G series can decode
ten 2-tone codes or eight 5-tone codes on a channel.
When a matched tone is received, many actions are programmable
for each code such as answer back calls,
beep sounds, bell icon, stun/kill, auto transmission, external
out and so on.
256 memory channels and
rotary channel knob
The IC-F44G series has a maximum 256 programmable
channels with 16 banks. With a simple rotation of the
rotary channel knob, memory channel selection can be
made easily.
Programmable functions
Up to 8 programmable buttons, [P0]-[P3], [^], [v],
[Monitor] and [Red button] can be assigned additional
functions to meet a variety of requirements.
Voice scrambler function
The IC-F44G series has a built-in inversion type voice
scrambler as standard. By installing an optional voice
scrambler unit, UT-109 or UT-110, more secure communication
is possible.
